Why does our data differ from SolaX?

SolaX shows slightly different data to our charting.

SolaX uses the term ‘Yield’ with a definition of 'Total daily inverter's AC output'Zoa shows “Solar generation”These are not the same data or meaning.

Data definitions

Zoa's solar generation

This is the amount of energy produced by the panels before accounting for efficiency loses in the inverter.

SolaX yield

SolaX's Yield is after energy is lost by the inefficiencies in the inverter DC->AC conversion and powering the inverter itself.

Yield data: Battery dependancies

Battery Charged from solar (not discharged)

Yield will represent the total actual solar generation with any inverter losses and the energy charged into the battery. This means SolaX yield will be lower than Zoa's solar generation by the inverter losses + the amount of energy that went into charging the battery.

Battery Discharged (but not charged)

Yield will represent the total actual solar generation with any inverter losses + the amount of energy discharged from the battery. This means SolaX yield will be greater than Zoa's solar generation if the amount of energy discharged from the battery was greater than the inverter losses.

No battery / battery not charged or discharged

Yield will equal the total actual solar generation with any inverter losses. This means SolaX yield numbers will be slightly smaller than Zoa's solar generation numbers.
