Getting started without an export tariff
If a customer doesn't have an export tariff yet, you can simply skip this step. Depending on the supplier and DNO, getting an export tariff can take a while.
However, until an export tariff is linked, we are unable to optimise the battery.
Linking with Octopus Energy
If the user's import tariff is already linked through their Octopus API key, then once their Octopus Export tariff is active, it will automatically appear in the app. The customer won’t need to do anything; their tariff details will update automatically. If the user's import isn't with Octopus, then they will need to link their export with their Octopus API key.
Linking with other suppliers
For other suppliers, Flatpeak helps us retrieve the import tariff details. Once their export tariff becomes available, they can return to the appand select the prompt to link their export tariff.
Can customers optimise without an export?
No, once an export tariff has been added, then customers will be able to optimise their battery.
Will savings still be calculated?
Yes, hardware savings will still be calculated and displayed in the app.
