Connecting FoxESS devices

Consumers can connect their FoxESS device to the Zoa app by generating and linking an API key from their FoxESS account. This allows Zoa to securely access energy data and optimise the battery system.

It's highly recommended to log in to FoxESS on a tablet or larger screen, rather than a mobile. FoxESS is not mobile-friendly.

Log in to your FoxESS account. Go to https://foxesscloud.com and sign in using your credentials.

Navigate to API Management

Click on your User Profile in the top menu.

Select API Management.

Generate an API Key.

Click Generate API Key.

Enter a name for the key. This can be something meaningful to you, such as (This is just to help you identify your keys later):

  • Zoa app

  • Your name

  • Your address

  • The device name

Enter your property address.

Tick both boxes to allow (Both must be selected for full functionality.):

  • ✅ Data access

  • ✅ Device control

⚠️ Save the API Key.

Once the key is generated, copy and store it somewhere safe. FoxESS does not show the full key again after this step.

⚠️ If the key is lost, it cannot be recovered. You’ll need to delete it and generate a new one.

Paste the API Key in the Zoa app.
