How are savings calculated?

To calculate total customer savings, we break the data down into two layers: Base Solar Savings and Optimisation Savings.

1. Base Solar & Battery Savings

First, we determine foundational savings by comparing a customer’s actual energy spend (with their current system) against a baseline scenario.

The Benchmark: We estimate what the customer would have spent if they had no solar or battery hardware, assuming they were on the cheapest flat-rate tariff available.

2. Optimisation Savings

If a customer enables optimisation, we calculate the additional value generated by smart technology.

The Comparison: We compare the customer's actual costs against a simulated balance mode. This simulation estimates what their costs would have been if the battery only performed basic solar and usage tracking without advanced logic.

The Total Result

Total Savings are the sum of these two figures. This represents the combined financial benefit of the customer’s hardware and the added intelligence of the optimisation software.
