Understanding Solar generation data

How does Zoa calculate solar generation? 

Zoa's solar generation is the amount of energy produced by the panels before accounting for efficiency losses in the inverter. 

How do we get generation data?

Zoa connects to OEM inverters via cloud APIs. We get access to: 

• PV generation data

• Battery data

• Grid import/export data.  

How accurate is the data?

The data we get from the inverter is accurate as long as the hardware has been installed correctly. Generation data might differ slightly from the consumption data a user might get from their manufacturer app. The difference should be very small.

How often is the usage and generation data updated in the app?

This can vary by device manufacturer, but typically, the app receives data every 5 minutes.
